This exhibition will present 120 paintings by Russian and French artists active at the end of the nineteenth century and the early part of the twentieth who have shown themselves to be among the greatest pioneers of the main directions of European modern art, from Impressionism and Realism to Non-Obejctive painting. This is an opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy unseen works by Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Matisse and Picasso together with those by Kandinsky, Tatlin and Malevich.
Lent by the four principal Russian museums: The State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow, The State Tretyakov, Moscow, The State Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg and The State Russian Museum, St Petersburg, it will be the first time these master paintings have been seen in the UK. |
